Zenn and pets

Zenn do not have pets however they evolved along side a slow growing species of gryphon-like critters that begin life in the region of the mountains the Zenn inhabit. When they are older they eventually migrate into the upper portions of the mountain with the rest of their kin. They operate in almost the same way as wolves and ravens/crows do on Earth. They'll help the Zenn navigate, alert them to predators, or find prey and in return they get to share the kills the Zenn make or take advantage of the protection and warmth they can offer in their dwellings. They're too smart to be pets and rival the Zenn in intelligence but because of this relationship they haven't had any need to develop tools other than basic things to aid them in hunting.
